The AFMA staff consists of the following individuals:


Executive Director

De Wet as Executive Officer takes the lead and responsibility for all executive and strategic decision making, management, implementations and control within all of the AFMA structures and functions.


Manager: Operational Services

Dirk as Manager: Operational Services is responsible for all operational matters which include office administration, IT and finance. Additional to his line function involving operational matters, he also takes the lead in other matters, i.e. skills development and training; trade committee matters and the South African Cereals and Oilseeds Trade Association (SACOTA) Secretariat.


Manager: Technical & Regulatory Affairs
Professional Natural Scientist (Animal Science): 400044/07

Liesl is responsible for all technical and regulatory matters within AFMA. She liaises with various government departments and relevant industry groups on behalf of AFMA. The Feed Registration Service (FRS), SA feed legislation and the AFMA Code of Conduct receive primary focus, with additional support provided for AFMA events and the AFMA Matrix quarterly magazine. Liesl also represents AFMA on the Regulatory Committee of the International Feed Industry Federation.


Administrator: Farm Feed Registrations
Cand.Sci.Nat (Animal Science) 114464/15

Thami is responsible for the administration of the Feed Registration Service and is the primary contact point for submission of feed registration applications for AFMA members. Thami also assists with the administration of liaison meetings between AFMA and Agriculture Inputs Control (AIC). General enquiries with regard to registration applications, requirements and the premarket assessment process at AIC can be sent to Thami.


Administrator: Technical Matters

This staff member is responsible for the coordination of all matters related to the Technical Committee and its portfolio committees. He/she also assists with the planning and logistics of the AFMA Forum, Symposium and Workshops. The AFMA monitoring systems on salmonella, mycotoxins and dioxins are maintained and reports are issued quarterly to the Technical Committee. All enquiries with regard to technical matters and committee projects can be sent to this staff member.


Office Administrator

As Administrator: Office Administration, Riana is in most cases the first point of call at the AFMA office. She is responsible for all office administration matters as well as arrangements of all official meetings of the AFMA Committee and AFMA Board of Directors. Riana also acts as administrative assistant to the Executive Director and Manager: Operational Services.
