12th International Feed Regulators Meeting (IFRM)

The 12th International Feed Regulators Meeting (IFRM), organised by IFIF in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), will take place on Thursday, 14 March 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand, right after the 6th Global Feed and Food Congress. The 12th IFRM provides an opportunity for regulators and feed industry professionals from across the globe to exchange their thoughts and discuss concrete ideas for providing safe and affordable feed and food around the world. The Animal Feed Manufacturers Association (AFMA) will represent South Africa at this event.

Successful FAO side event with IFIF on animal nutrition and feed strategies at Codex Task Force on AMR

The role of animal nutrition and feed strategies and options for reducing the need to use antimicrobials in animal production was highlighted in a side event during a meeting of the Ad hoc Codex Intergovernmental Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance that took place in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 10 to 14 December 2018. The speakers summarized the current state of the art and recent insights on how diets, gut health and the immune system interact and could contribute to disease resilience. The event also highlighted the work of FAO to promote these options to stakeholders in the feed sector and the activities of the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF). [Read more]
